The fertile plain between the Theiss and the Danube with the legendary draw wells, the varied mix of forests, fields and meadows, as well as the peaceful herds of sheep, horses and pigs, is an attractive destination. Many assume the legendary court of the Hun king Etzel here.

Route
Friday, Individual Arrival

to Passau until 4:30 PM and transfer from the Donau Touristik parking lot/train station to the ship. Set sail during the welcome dinner "Cast off" at around 7:00 PM. At around 9:30 PM, we encounter the Schlögener Donauschlinge passage.

Saturday, Wachau (54 km)

Distribution of rental bikes. Passing through Säusenstein to Melk (Abbey) and through the wine villages of Spitz, Weißenkirchen, to Dürnstein.

Sunday, Slovak Danube Cycle Path (56 km)

On the car-free cycle path along/near the Danube to Kelemantia (Roman fortress), Moča, and Štúrovo/Esztergom (Cathedral). By ship through the Danube Bend past Visegrád. Passage through Budapest at around 10:00 PM.

Monday, Puszta (49 km)

To the Baroque city of Baja (Town Hall, Cathedral) and along the Danube Cycle Path and the most famous pilgrimage route in Hungary (all car-free) to Kalocsa (Capital of the Puszta). Lunch on board and in the afternoon car-free to the center (Cathedral, Paprika Museum). Optional: Guided tour of the Cathedral and Episcopal Palace.

Tuesday, Bike Tour Budapest/Szentendre (22 km)

Optional: City tour (duration approximately 3 hours with a stop in the Castle District). Continue on car-free bike paths to Margaret Island, Parliament, and the Central Market Hall. Active version: On the Danube Cycle Path to the artistic town of Szentendre and back (+ 52 km).

Wednesday, Slovak Danube Cycle Path (24 km)

Car-free and along/near the Danube to the center of Bratislava. Lunch on board. Then time for individual exploration. Optional: Guided city walk with the Bratislava Park (duration approximately 2 hours). Active version: Bike tour to the opulent building of Empress Maria Theresa Schloss Hof (+ 48 km).

Thursday, Austrian Danube Cycle Path (62 km)

Car-free past the castles of Dornach, Clam, Wallsee, and Pragstein and the Pleschinger Lakes to Linz. Return of rental bikes at the Donau Touristik office (near Hauptplatz/Pfarrplatz). Optional: "200 Years of Anton Bruckner" concert on the Bruckner organ in Linz.

Friday, Disembarkation

Disembarkation until 10:00 AM. Bus transfer to the Donau Touristik private parking lot/train station in Passau and journey home.


Program changes on the journey are, in the interest of your safety, at the discretion of the 1st captain due to factors such as high water, low water, or other cases of FORCE MAJEURE, at any time (even at short notice). Arrival times are subject to lock waiting times and normal water levels.
