Golubac
Top Sights
Golubac Fortress is divided into two castles, a lower and an upper castle. In the upper castle, the remains of an Orthodox church bear witness to the presence of a Serbian lord of the castle, who is not known in detail. The well-preserved parts of the fortress are an attraction for tourists, whether on a round trip or on a cruise. Some objects of the castle stand directly in the water, as the water level has risen due to damming. The view from the fortress stretches for kilometres, so it is the ideal place for beautiful landscape photography.
Culinary
The small Danube city with its 25 surrounding villages has only about 12,500 inhabitants. Nevertheless, there are a few restaurants and pubs where you can indulge in Serbian specialities.
