Gemuenden
Gemünden is a meeting point for cyclists from all directions, supra-regional cycle paths such as the Main Cycle Path, the Main-Tauber-Franconian Cycle Eight, the Rhön-Sinntal Cycle Path and the Wern Cycle Path intersect with the two long-distance hiking trails Maintalhöhenringweg and Birkenhainer Straße.The central meeting point for everyone is the marketplace with its countless small street cafes and restaurants.
The Film-Foto-Ton-Musem is located in the Huttenschloss Castle Gemünden. Exhibitions, lectures and film screenings take place regularly.
The ruins of the former Scherenburg, also called Scherenburg Castle, stand out high on a rock above the city. A part of the shield wall is still preserved today, the keep, which now serves as a bat quarters and is no longer accessible, a gable wall of a basement with a cellar and a small kennel, which serves as a viewing terrace over the Main and Saale valley and the Spessart.
Since the 1990s, the inner courtyard has been used by the Scherenburg Festival every summer.
