Colmberg is also a meeting point for the Altmühlradweg and the Burgenstraße long-distance hiking trail with junction to the Taubertalradweg to the Main River and to the Aischtal valley cycle path to Bamberg.

The European watershed runs through the heart of the Frankenhöhe Nature Park. A hiking trail meanders along this watershed.

Worth seeing is the Colmberg Castle 35 meters high above the market town of Colmberg.The castle dates from around 1150. Around 1700, the half-timbered building on the right side of the courtyard, which is still preserved, was built over the horse stables. Today the castle, which is privately owned by the Unbehauen family, serves as a hotel.

At the foot of the castle is the dreamlike 18-hole course with driving range of the Ansbach golf club with a fantastic view of the Upper Altmühl Vale.
