Berg im Drautal is a Carinthian community near Spittal an der Drau in the upper Drau Vale.To the north of the Kreuzeck group in the Carinthian Hohe Tauern, to the south of the Gailtal limestone Alps, Berg lies in the middle of the picturesque meadow landscape of the Drau river. Berg lies directly on the Drau Cycling Path, the Sandhof cycling station invites you to take a relaxing break.

Cyclists and mountain bikers will find comfortable and challenging routes in and around Berg im Drautal. Along the Drau Cycle Path, between Sillian and Völkermarkt, cyclists will discover countless sights.The route also invites you to take a excursion into the nearby-area.

Berg im Drautal is one of the six Carinthian communities that operate nationally as "Slow Food Villages" under the common slogan "Good Clean Fair".The aim of the "Slow Food Villages" is a joint regional marketing of local organic producers, refiners and consumers.

So close to the stars ... where the mountain bike meets astronomy. The Emberger Alm at 1,800 meters above sea level is perfect for hobby astronomers and the first address when it comes to a vacation in Carinthia and Sterndl.

The upper Drau Vale refers to an extremely mild climate, due to the influx of Mediterranean air and the deterrent effect of the Hohe Tauern against weather influences from the north.
