Route
Day 1, Arrival in Passau

Check-in at your arrival hotel and pick up your rental bike.

Day 2, Schlögen Region (40 km)

Cycle through Obernzell and Engelhartszell (famous for its abbey) to the natural wonder of Schlögener Schlinge.

Day 3, Linz (56 km)

Enjoy a scenic ride through the sparsely populated narrow valley to Aschach, then continue via Eferding (castle and parish church) to Linz, the 2009 European Capital of Culture. Extend your stay for a city tour, with vouchers worth € 20.- for shops, cafés, and restaurants.

Day 4, Wallsee/Perg/Au (42 km)

Follow the Danube Cycle Path through the Machland region, passing the Abwinden power plant and Mauthausen, to your destination.

Day 5, Maria Taferl/Marbach (56 km)

Ride through the Strudengau region, passing the romantic Hößgang gorge to Ybbs and on to Maria Taferl, Austria's second-largest pilgrimage site, or Marbach.

Day 6, Krems/Traismauer (54/69 km)

Cycle to Melk (home to its impressive abbey) and through the renowned wine-growing region of Wachau, ending the day in Krems or Traismauer.

Day 7, Vienna (63/78 km)

Ride to the flower-filled city of Tulln and continue to Klosterneuburg, where you can return your rental bike. From there, take the suburban train (every 30 minutes, approx. € 6.- on-site) to Vienna's city center or cycle directly to your hotel.

Day 8, Return Journey

Bus return from the hotel in Vienna every Saturday, on all other days by train (2nd class/free choice of trains, every 2 hours, no transfer to/from the train station). Return transfer of personal bikes for return days Thursday to Sunday with drop-off the day before in Vienna + € 38.-.
