Top Attractions

Stein am Rhein captivates visitors with its cohesive historic townscape. The ensemble of impeccably preserved townhouses, adorned with painted facades, bay windows, and stepped gables, along with medieval gates and towers, defines its charm. This Swiss gem on the banks of the High Rhine is one of the most popular destinations in the international Lake Constance region.

Culture & Events

Four diverse museums are definitely worth a visit. Located in the heart of the old town, the Museum Lindwurm offers a glimpse into the life of a middle-class family around 1850, showcasing their home and work on over 1,500 m². The Krippenwelt displays up to 600 nativity scenes from over 80 countries annually, explaining their religious and cultural significance alongside the exhibition. The St. Georgen Monastery Museum, once a Benedictine abbey, is exceptionally well-preserved. The Kulturhaus Obere Stube hosts regular art exhibitions and is a cultural hub.

Highlights of the year include the Piano Jazz Festival and the culinary event "Wild & Wein am Rhein" (Game & Wine by the Rhine).

Culinary Delights

Stein am Rhein places great emphasis on gastronomy and enjoyment. Whether you're looking for a quick bite, Swiss specialties, or fresh fish dishes, this charming town has something for everyone. Small bakeries and cozy cafés in the old town invite you to linger and savor.
